DAV Chapter 8 is in need of Veterans who would like to become Chapter Service Officers and assist other Veterans in getting their VA claims done. We are looking for about 6-8 people who are interested in doing claims at least one morning a week for 3-4 hours. Yes, it is volunteer (so no pay) but their mileage to and from the Chapter is reimbursed each month. 

We have opportunities open immediately to start doing on-the-job training preparatory to the formal certification training on January 23rd in Glendale. Of course, all of this is free to the volunteer, and lunch at the formal training is provided by Chapter 20.

It would be really great if we could get some Desert Shield/Storm and Post-9/11 Veterans involved 🙂 Of course, Veterans from any era are welcome! Even if they are not currently getting compensation for a disability, if they wear hearing aids (hearing impaired) or glasses (visually impaired), they are eligible to be a member of DAV (which is required in order to be a Service Officer). And the Chapter pays $40 of the lifetime membership fee 🙂
