Community Action Partnership Welcomes First Things First

Community Action Partnership Welcomes First Things First

Tuesday, March 11, 2025 (3:30 PM - 4:30 PM) (MST)

Description

The March meeting of the Community Action Partnership will focus on the impact of current proposed legislation on early childhood programs, and efforts to engage the business community to collaborate with nonprofits in this space.  Representatives from First Things First will present on this topic.  Austin Bates will give an update on current bills, Bright Futures AZ, and ways to advocate for early childhood. Lisa Ciolli and Sheri Collins will talk about how First Things First is engaging business leaders in Arizona through their partnership with Executives Partnering to Invest in Children (EPIC).

In addition, we will reserve time during this session to hear from our nonprofit members about the impact of the new federal administration’s policies on funding, planning and the ability to carry out the objectives of our member organizations.  We will be gathering real world information from members during this session and the next one in April, and will discuss CAP’s role in advocating for the needs of our members.  We encourage all of the Chamber’s nonprofits and their stakeholders to attend to have their voices heard.

Description: All Chamber members are invited to join us to maximize the impact of non-profit organizations in Mesa. Guest speakers share information each month, and attendees build relationships to support each other's service to our community.
